Notice to all indexing experts! IndexMatic 2.025 for InDesign has just been released with an impressive number of new features and goodies: the Hit Report retrieves words and stats before indexing, the Query Editor has been entirely redesigned, queries now allow comments and cross-references, and finally IndexMatic² regular expressions support Unicode properties and five additional metacharacters “you can't live without.”

If you already are an iX² user, see ‘Version History’ (page 31) to identify the main changes and bug fixes. Apart from its new features, IndexMatic 2.025 provides essential improvements in parsing pages, interpreting queries and indexing contents. As this is a long story—private wink to Ulrich Dirr,—I prefer not to repeat what is fully explained in the manual.

Avec toutes les nouveautés introduites ici, plus que jamais ne dites pas à vos clients qu'IndexMatic2 existe. Ils vont complètement s'exonérer de leur travail d'indexation. Script à consommer sans modération.

Bonjour,
Petite question, je suis à la recherche d'un script qui permettrai dans un premier temps de baliser tous les styles (caractère, paragraphe, tableau, cellules et objet. Ensuite par le biais d'une table de correspondance on pourai créer des blocs types en associant des styles dans des balises types.
Je suppose qu'index matic ne permet pas tout ça mais il y a des solutions dans ce sens ?

IndexMatic n'est pas orienté balisage, son job consiste exclusivement à explorer le texte en tant que tel, sans jamais toucher à la structure du document source ou à ses composants.
Pour le script que vous recherchez (qui ne semble pas d'une grande complexité à première vue), vous trouverez certainement des pistes chez les spécialistes du XML InDesign. Le meilleur en France est Loïc Aigon — http://loicaigon.com — n'hésitez pas à le contacter pour ce type de projet.

Name of ouput files derived from date are shift for one day ahead. You probably add 1 to result from getDate() function which is incorrect (as opposed to adding 1 to result from getMonth() which is correct).
Thanks a lot, Pav! You're correct, my code wrongly increments getDate(). [I can't believe that no beta-tester has detected this bug!]
Of course I will fix this in the next release.

Dear Marc, is there possibility to sort index in cyrillic alphabet order?
Hi Valentine,
No, this is a serious limitation and I'm really aware of that. IndexMatic can handle any Unicode character of the Basic Multinlingual Plane *but* it does not provide any practical way to specifically target and sort Cyrillic-based terms. For now, only Latin alphabets are fully supported.
The main reason for this limitation is that I don't know how Russian and other Cyrillic languages actually ‘work’ in terms of hyphenation, collation algorithm, etc. IndexMatic implements a few alphabet-dependent features which probably are no more valid in non-Latin scripts.
I hope to tackle this problem, but first I need to study all these technical aspects…
